Pasadena, USA – The night of June 19, 2025, went down in history. The result not only put the Brazilian team in the isolated lead of Group B but also ended a painful drought of almost 13 years without victories for a South American club against the European champion in FIFA tournaments.

The Game: Tactics, Grit, and a Goal for Eternity

The key moment happened at 35 minutes of the first half. In a lightning counterattack, Venezuelan Savarino found Igor Jesus with a masterful pass. The center forward, with strength and coldness, overcame the defense and finished. The ball deflected slightly off the defender and deceived goalkeeper Donnarumma, dying in the back of the net to the delight of the Brazilian fans present.

In the second half, the Parisian pressure intensified, but stopped in the hands of goalkeeper John. The Botafogo goalkeeper performed a true miracle by defending a close-range shot from Gonçalo Ramos, guaranteeing the minimal advantage. Commanded by defender Alexander Barboza and the tireless midfielder Gregore, the defense of Glorioso remained impassable until the final whistle.
